Active Release Techniques® (ART) in Vancouver (Kitsilano)

ART is a patented, soft tissue system and movement-based technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

These  treatment protocols – over 500 specific moves – are unique to ART. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. ART is not a cookie-cutter approach.

Chiropractic in Vancouver (Kitsilano)

A chiropractic adjustment/mobilization increases joint mobility and flexibility in a specific area, relaxes muscle spasm and provides pain relief.  The movement also increases circulation of lubricating fluid within the joint.

Custom-fit Orthotics for Runners and Athletes and Workplace

A comprehensive analysis of your foot, function and injury may determine that you will benefit from wearing custom-made orthotics. Wearing custom-made orthotics has proven to reduce pain and prevent more severe problems and/or future injuries. Many employees’ health care benefits cover the cost of orthotics; please consult your benefit provider for your coverage details.

Kinesio® Taping in Vancouver (Kitsilano)

Kinesio® Taping gives support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. It is also used for Preventive Maintenance, Edema, and Pain Management.

Kinesio® Taping is a technique based on the body’s own natural healing process. Muscles are not only attributed to the movements of the body but also control the circulation of venous and lymph flows, body temperature, etc. Therefore, the failure of the muscles to function properly induces various kinds of symptoms.

The Kinesio® Taping method is applied over muscles to reduce pain and inflammation, relax overused tired muscles, and to support muscles in movement on a 24hr/day basis. It is non-restrictive type of taping which allows for full range of motion. Kinesio® Taping is different than traditional sport taping. Traditional sport taping is wrapped around a joint strictly for stabilization and support during a sporting event obstructing the flow of bodily fluids.

Kinesio® Taping may be used to treat the following: muscular facilitation or inhibition in pediatric patients, carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back strain/pain (subluxations, herniated disc), knee conditions, shoulder conditions, hamstring, groin injury, rotator cuff injury, whiplash, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, patella tracking, pre and post surgical edema, ankle sprains, athletic preventative injury method, and as a support method.
