  • Will I be 'cracked' (Chiropractic adjustment)? Are there other type of treatments instead?

    The adjustment (where a popping sound is often heard) is only one of several treatment options that our Kitsilano, Vancouver office offers. Together we will decide what treatment option(s) might be best.  For example, you may receive Active Release Techniques®, Class 4 Laser, Graston Techniques® or Shockwave Therapy, along with postural and ergonomic advice as well preventative stretching and strengthening exercises.

  • Do you do direct billing for extended health?

    Can you DIRECT BILL my insurance company?  Yes, WE CAN DIRECT BILL for: Pacific Blue Cross, Canada Life, Canada life (PSHCP), Equitable Life, Great West Life, Manulife Financial, Sunlife Financial, First Canadian, Desjardins, Chambers of Commerce Group, Johnson Inc. or Johnson Group (all or a percentage of your appointment fee depending on your coverage).  Please contact your provider for all details regarding your coverage as we do not know the details your specific plan.  In your online Intake Form as a New Patient, you will be asked the details of your insurance plan/provider and we will enter these numbers prior to your arrival for direct billing purposes on your first visit!  For WBC/ICBC (or other plans not mentioned above) you will have to submit your receipt for reimbursement after your appointment.

    NOTE: We do NOT directly bill MSP, DISABILITY, ICBC, or WCB.  Please keep your receipt and submit directly to them for reimbursement.

     

  • For Extended Health Benefits, is Active Release Techniques™, Shockwave, and Graston all covered under 'Chiropractic'?

    Yes, since Dr. Case’s professional designation is a Chiropractor, all treatments he performs (including Class 4 and 3B laser, Shockwave, Active Release Techniques, Graston etc.) fall under ‘Chiropractic’ for your Extended Health Benefits.  The only exception of Dr. Case’s services is Custom Orthotics (covered under Orthotics).  Please check your plan for limits and percentages covered prior to your appointment if possible.

  • I’ve heard once you get one adjustment/manipulation you need to keep seeing the chiropractor. Is this true?

    No, most times there is a start and finish to the treatment. That is, the problem is ‘fixed’ and you may be given exercises and stretches for future prevention. Typically, we try to fix or substantially improve an injury within 4-6 sessions.

  • How much does it cost?

    FOR ANY COMBINATION of Class 4 Laser, Shock wave Therapy, Active Release Techniques (ART), Graston and/or Chiropractic:

    Since we do DIRECT BILLING for several insurance companies (see direct billing question above), you will only be charged if there is a surcharge left over after we put through your direct billing.

    Initial consult, exam and treatment: $150

    Follow-up treatment: $78

    Double session (follow-up treatment, 2+ areas treated): $150

    New injury – evaluate and treat: $150

    Custom Orthotics: $490 (includes assessment)

    Cancellation policy:  Your appointment time is reserved just for you.  We never double book patients or take the next patient’s appointment time.  As such, we require 24 hours (ideally more) notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment.  Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, may be charged a cancellation fee, depending on circumstances and the mood of Dr. Case.

  • Does Dr. Case run on time?

    Yes. A service of ours is to stay on time (either exactly or within a few minutes). This allows you to plan your day and us to plan ours.

    • In order to keep on time, we need to move on if a patient is more than a few minutes late as follow-up appointments typically run approximately 15 minutes and we never double book. If you think you might be late, please call us (604-569-2888) and although we may have to move on to the next patient(s) in order to maintain our service, we will try our best to reschedule you as soon as possible that day or the following day depending on your and our availability.
  • Will the treatment hurt?

    With Active Release Techniques®, Shockwave Therapy or Graston Techniques®, patients often describe a good or necessary hurt. Class 4 laser does not hurt at all, but will feel warm.  The amount pressure used by Dr. Case or the Shockwave setting selected is always up to you. Class 4 laser is absolutely free of any discomfort (sensation of warmth only).

  • Will I be sore after the treatments?

    Occasionally, you may be sore for a day or two following treatment depending on the sensitivity of the injury and the necessary location/depth of the treatment.  This soreness will subside and follow-up treatments can be reduced regarding treatment location and type.

  • If I am sore from treatment, should I cancel or rebook my appointment for a later date?

    Typically, no.  A sore area gives us an opportunity to work nearby areas that are part of the injury cause and solution.  However, if you are very sore and want to move your appointment out, please reschedule online.

  • Why do I have to book my appointment (and pay) online?

    We have a very user friendly online booking site where you can set up your profile with your credit card information  (very secure and stored only with an encrypted token – same as major banks).  This way you can automatically pay AFTER your treatment and have full access to my live schedule from anywhere, anytime to book, cancel or change your appointment.  You can also pay with debit (or another credit card) after the treatment.  If you have extended health you will only be charged the surcharge (if there is one depending on your coverage) following direct billing.

  • Why do I have to enter my credit card and pay online? Is it secure? Yes. Will I be charge before my appointment time? No.

    Yes, it is secure.

    Please note that Payfirma is PCI Compliant and uses the same 128-bit encryption as the big banks around the world.

    Jane (booking site) never stores your credit card information directly on Jane’s servers.  When you enter a credit card in Jane, Jane instantly transfers that data to Payfirma (credit card processing company), and Payfirma stores that information for Jane.  Payfirma sends Jane back an encrypted key (a token) which represents the credit card so that Jane can continue to bill against that card as you wish, but note that this token can’t be used outside of Jane. The only information that Jane stores about the credit card are the last 4 digits and the expiration date. 

    Also, you do NOT have to wait in line to pay (or wait in line to book another appointment – also online) before or after your appointment.

    You will NOT be charged before your appointment time.

  • Do you do ICBC claims (or WCB)?

    Yes, for ICBC (but not directly, I am opted out for now).  If requested from ICBC, I can send them a report with your claim number and then your ICBC adjustor will continue to assist and manage your reimbursement (directly to/with you).

    For WCB, keep your receipts and speak with your claim adjuster for reimbursement.  (I am opted out.)

  • Are your booking site (Jane App) and website secure?

    Yes, both are SSL-secured.
