Treatment options for TMJ pain or injury

  • Dr. Case usually starts with Active Release Techniques or Class 3 B or 4 laser (painless) depending on type/depth of injury, severity, chronicity and if painful.
  • Often, muscles of the neck and jaw need to be treated to alleviate tension that contribute to TMJ injury or pain.
  • Stretches/exercises are added to help contribute to the treatment process as well as for prevention.
  • Chiropractic therapy can be helpful also (if necessary, at your discretion and with your consent).
  • Often, 3-6 treatment are required for significant improvement.
